Picking up the story of one of the secondary characters of Star of the Game, this one followed Matt and Pierce who were trying to pick up the pieces of the relationship that abruptly ended when Pierce left the town two years ago, and also negotiate a potential conflict of interest issue for Matt's work. This was such an interesting second chance romance in that the initial angst was still there, but it was quickly tempered by fairly good communication between Matt and Pierce; I was glad to see the mental health rep here too. The conflict was more external and definitely more focused on Pierce and factors surrounding him, but it still worked well (any conflict close to Matt was rather a non-factor once addressed, although I was slightly pissed on his behalf when we find out something related to his position). I didn’t fall in love with these guys the way I have in previous Aislin books, but I still enjoyed their story and look forward to seeing them down the road. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

As the new head coach of the Vancouver Orcas, Matt Shore has got his work cut out for him. Coming off a season where the Orcas came in last in the entire AHL, Matt's job is to whip his new hockey team into shape for the oncoming season. He doesn't need any distractions, especially not one in the form of a tall, dark, and gorgeous antiques dealer. Who's also his ex-and his best player's father. Pierce Langley-Brown has a lot of regrets. The biggest? Leaving Matt behind two years ago when his son needed him. Now, with his son on Matt's hockey team, there's no avoiding the man who once owned his heart. Not that Pierce wants to avoid him. And that heart? It still belongs to Matt. But will Matt choose to keep it after all this time? Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

The 1/2 star is missing because Matt in previous books was represented as demi and this wasnt reflected in this book. I understand that he knew Pierce and had built a relationship previously with those emotions but still was missing.
They definitely make it work together and seem comfortable with each other and the mental health was dealt with well.
In parts the book seemed quick and other slow..so the pacing was just slightly mismatched for me ( )
