I think it does a good job of describing how people change. It also definitely has a surprising and shocking ending. ( ) In this book, a tadpole and a caterpillar meet, fall in love, and promise each other that they will never change. The tadpole begins to change into a frog, and the caterpillar gets mad because he has broken his promise. Then the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly and the frog unknowingly eats her. This is a little morbid for a kids book, but in a funny way, and a theme I see is that sometimes you can't prevent change. The other reviews say it better than I can. The shocking ending is hilarious, but I really wanted it to be a nice story about inner beauty. Recommended for adults - but read it yourself before sharing it with little ones. The pragmatic approach to relationships is refreshing, though. As Shel Silverstein reminds us (more tactfully) in the superb [b:The Missing Piece|30122|The Missing Piece|Shel Silverstein|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1168052477s/30122.jpg|41394], not everyone is going to find a fairy-tale style Happily Ever After. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
