Taming The Biker is the 13th book in Glenna Maynard's Royal Bastards MC: Charleston, WV series and it's one of the best in the series I've read so far. This book had me on the edge, changing my mind every couple of pages. I definitely had a love-hate thing going on with Smoke. He could be so great and then turn into an ass so quickly. I love books like this one that I can just get absorbed in. I read the whole book in a day, I couldn't put it down.
This is Ember and Smoke's story. Smoke is fresh from a divorce and now the biggest man whore in the club. He sleeps with every woman he sees and doesn't care. He says he can never be tamed. That changes when Ember walks in and he makes the best bet he ever could, he just didn't know it yet. Ember is Prodigy's little sister who just turned 18 and finally ran away from home escaping her father's plan for her life. Her parents were doomsday preppers and Prodigy left home when Ember was little so they weren't really close. When he tried to see their mom some years back he told her where to find him if she ever needed anything so that's where she ran to so she could try and figure out what she wanted to do with her life. She had been so sheltered from the real world it made her very naive. The first time she saw Smoke she knew he was the hottest guy she's ever seen in her life. When they find out who each other are things get a bit awkward. They're roommates now since she's staying with Prodigy. They begin with a friends-with-benefits relationship that ends more times than I can remember, mostly thanks to Shiloh the club bunny who always starts trouble. Why she hasn't been kicked out already I will never know. Smoke is determined not to be tamed and not get attached until Ember ends up in trouble and he has to admit it to himself. Does he come to terms with his feelings in time to save Ember? How does Prodigy feel about his best friend with his little sister? Will they finally realize all they want is each other?
I gave this a 5-star rating because the writing is just awesome with the back and forth between them. And a 4-Spicy rating, because it was hot but not over the top which worked since Ember, was so naive and experiencing something she never knew before. This book was a fast burn but it didn't let you miss anything that was happening. Ember's best friend Sabrina was hilarious. I wish she was single so she could get a biker just like Ember. She could stir some things up at the clubhouse with her personality. I do recommend reading the books before this one so you already know what's going on and can understand some parts more clearly. Glenna does a great job explaining what happened in the books before this one but nothing is better than reading the whole book to get all of the story. Next up is Trenton and his story.
*I received this book for free. I voluntarily gave an honest review. ( )
