I absolutely loved this book! Regency romance is becoming my new favorite genre! The imagery brought Wooler, Northumberland, to life!

Theodosia is one of my favorite characters that I've read about this year! She's caring, compassionate, loving, forgiving, and giving! Her loyalty to her family is admirable.
Daniel is complex. He's a hero, a soldier who is thrust into a circumstance that he's not prepared for. He figures out that he longs for love. The crusty old General was endearing to me because he reminded me of my grandfather!

The story is unique and full of surprises! It's also full of faith in God! The love story is sweet and had me celebrating!

All in all, this is a must read! I look forward to reading more books by Carolyn Miller! ( )

Theodosia, or “Theo” is a 31-year-old woman, living in a small village in northern England. She has never traveled anywhere and is content with her life. She lives with her mother and her grandfather. Her mother is not well much of the time, so Theo runs the household. She would love to be married and have a family, but her prospects are bleak. She considers herself on the shelf and an old spinster. Her best friend has recently died, leaving Theo to care for her teenaged daughter, Rebecca, until Rebecca’s uncle can arrive to settle the estate and care for Rebecca.
Rebecca’s uncle, Daniel Balfour, is a soldier on leave to take care of his dead sister’s affairs and arrives in the village after being in London and feted as a military hero. He doesn’t want any fuss or celebrations to be made over him in the village, so after meeting Theo while she was out walking, they both decide to keep his identity a secret to the villagers. He meets his niece after a 10-year absence and lets her know they will be returning to London as soon as possible. Then, an accident happens that will change everything. Theo and Daniel both learn that what they have planned for their lives may not be what God has planned.
I don’t know how she does it, but this author’s stories gently draw me in and don’t let go until the final page. I close the back cover and say, “oh, that was such a good book!” That is her skill as an author. She gets me connected to her characters without me realizing it. Theo and Daniel are so kind, compassionate, and self-sacrificing. They are always thinking of others first before themselves. I highly recommend this series! The books can be read as standalones as the plots and characters don’t carry over. I can’t wait for this author’s next book!

I love Ms Miller’s stories set in Regency England. This time Wallflower, Theodosia, has a blemish that has set her firmly upon the shelf in a very small community. This does not diminish her servant heart. When her neighbor, best friend Clara dies, she takes on the care of 16 year old Rebecca until her uncle Daniel can fetch her. Daniel Balfour is a war hero and upon arrival wants nothing more than to stay out of the limelight.
The characters are delightful as is the banter between Theo and Daniel. They are both seeking the will of God and think they have their lives planned out, but that remains to be seen. Ms. Miller captures the flavor of the times in the customs and language and the rich details of the setting, transporting you back in time.
A fitting end to a delightful series, with an uplifting and joyful message of hope.

I really enjoyed this regency romance. I loved how strong and independent that Theodosia is. I loved that Daniel was strong and kind. I loved the story and the romance. I loved the descriptions of the lands and the homes. I did not want to put the book down. I received a copy of the book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

Whenever I pick up a book written by Carolyn Miller, I’m transported back to my love of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer. I enjoy Miller’s contemporary romances, but there is something special about her regency stories.

Dawn’s Untrodden Green has much to recommend it. A hero and heroine that aren’t society’s picture of beauty? Check. Witty banter? Check. Our couple kept together and a hint of scandal? Check and check. Faith front and center? Yep, that’s in there too.

I absolutely loved the connection that forms between Daniel and Theodosia. Both see underneath appearances to the other’s heart. And I was pleasantly surprised by Theo’s grandfather. This book is more light-hearted than the other two books in the series, but just as enjoyable.
