Kyle Turner feels like something is missing from his life, so he reluctantly agrees to see a Dominant as his friend's suggestion. Nate Jacobs is the specific Dominant to whom he's assigned, a consummate professional who never allows himself to get too involved with his clients and always respects the boundaries that need to exist in order for his work to be effective. But there's something different about Kyle and soon Nate is wondering if he can keep to his code.

The story is cute and enjoyable - there are a few explicit scenes - and there wasn't anything I particularly disliked. The reason for 3 stars, though, is that - even though I recognize it's a shorter story - I couldn't help feeling like the level of romance from the time the book started to where it suddenly was at the end (especially considering the amount of time that had passed) was a bit unrealistic. I understand the need to get to some resolution, but I always find it just a bit difficult if the characters fall a bit too fast with no real explanation for it - it just ends up reading as a bit too convenient for me and lacks complexity. But otherwise, I'd recommend this for a quick, fun, happy read. ( )

Setting: Present Day America

Kyle Turner has no idea what he is getting himself into when he knocks on Nate Jacob's "office" door, for the first time.
You see, Nate is a Dominant in the world of BDSM, a world that Kyle has never before ventured into. He has no idea what he intends to gain from his sessions with the Don, but after seeing what a yummy main course the man is, Kyle clears away any thoughts about retreating.
Nate Jacob's, the number one Dominant at Cupid's Heart, had doubts about taking on a new client. Even if it was one recommended by the boss, who just so happens to be his best-friend. But since she did request it, Nate complies. He wasn't at all expecting someone like Kyle, whose good looks was only one of the things that would practically leave him breathless around the guy. This leads him to a rather uncomfortable predicament as the number one Dom, who is known for total control and a lack of emotions, finds himself melting bit-by-bit.

A Master's Love focuses not only on Kyle's introduction to the BDSM world, but also on the emotions in both men that come to life thanks to their sessions. There is a bit more to both men than first meets the eye (well, than is first depicted in their introduction) and so it makes for an interesting story when their real personalities do rise.

**

I simply adored every single character in this story.
Kyle is cute. He "seems" to have quite a fun personality, that he keeps under wraps at times. At first I could really see him fully in the Submissive role, but as the story developed I was delighted to see there was more than one side to him.

Nate is intriguing. He has the whole dark and mysterious thing going on. He's stoic and cold when needs be, but there's tenderness underneath all of that.

Then there is Sydney and Travis, the duo's best friends, who provide much comic-relief.

My problem with the characters, and this goes for Nate and Kyle, is that their personalities could have come out a bit more. It's as if all of this stuff is underneath them both, just waiting to burst forth, but readers aren't given access to it. This is also how I also feel about their backgrounds. It is hinted that Nate has been through quite an ordeal, hinted over and over, but what exactly happened is unknown.
Why take the time to play up on that so much, if it's not to be detailed?
This is the same for Kyle. He has been hurt in some way, in his previous relationships. But what exactly happened...who knows?
There is so much mention of an ex boyfriend, repeated, repeated, repeated...but there is nothing detailed about what happened between them.
It would have been good to get the details and facts about these things, as they are indeed responsible for why these men are the way they are during the storyline.

All in all, I enjoyed reading A Master's Love. The words flowed nicely and the editing is top notch.
The story is interesting, although far from deep, the characters are enjoyable, and the ending meets with my approval.
Marty Rayne is very on the nose when it comes to descriptions - I love that, it feeds my imagination.
I see that there is now a second book available, as a continuation to this story, and I can't wait to read it. Hopefully some of the lingering questions I had, will be answered in it. ( )

Kyle is a 24 years old young man with no apparent problems in his life, but he has not yet found the true love. And he thinks, that, maybe, but not for sure, he can be interested in a dominition/submission relationship. To find if it is true, he goes to a private club, a place where subs pay real dom: not for sex, but to have someone who takes care of you.

And Kyle finds Nate, a very young dom, maybe of his same age, who is the best in the club, but from the very first time Nate lays his eyes on Kyle, he knows he can't be a detached dom as usual, cause he wants Kyle, and not for only few hours during the week.

Kyle is a simple characters, with no real problem, and so he is not so complex. Nate instead, has a past of abuse, and now allow only to his best friend, Sydney, to be emotionally close to him. The dom/sub relationship is not the center of the story, it is only the way Kyle and Nate meet. And Kyle is not a real sub, he really doesn't need to be directed. Instead Nate has an extreme need of someone who loves him.

A enjoyable reading, I reccomend to have a fast insight of the BDSM reality, without be too immersed.
