This book shows readers the funny relationship between pizza and taco and them trying to scare each other. The two don't want to admit it, but they are both scared. I would recommend this book to Kindergarten because of the little use of words and illustrations I think they would enjoy. I also think this would be good for 2nd or 3rd grade as an introduction to graphic novels because of the panels throughout.

This book is about 2 friends, Pizza and Taco. They are trying to see who is more scared and they find many ways to do it. From sitting in a dark room, to watching a horror movie and then finally hunting Ghost Peppers in the graveyard. At both of them are scared throughout but don't want to admit it to one another. This book would be good for a 2nd grade classroom. It can be used to introduce the idea of graphic novels because of the simple panels that are featured throughout the book.

First sentence: Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

Premise/plot: Pizza and Taco are two friends who spend the entire book trying to scare each other. Trying to 'properly' scare one another. Taco scares a bit easier than Pizza. The running gag is one likes dressing up as a "ghost pepper" and scaring the other. After the initial scare, they dare each other to scare each other.

My thoughts: I really enjoy this series for the most part. I like Pizza and Taco as characters. The first three or four titles in the series were absolutely great. I haven't been as big a fan of the later titles. But I still like the characters. Still interested in keeping up with these two friends.

This one would be good for those looking for Halloween titles but not too Halloween. Definitely more silly than scary. ( )
