Anna is nerdy and in love with her CEO, Craig, who doesn't know who she is. She starts a fake romance with Marco, Craig's half brother, for reasons. Of course Anna & Marco fall in love along the way. It was cute and entertaining. ( ) I got this free as a Kindle giveaway, so I feel bad saying this, but I made it to 40% and I feel confident this is among the top 10 worst written books I have ever attempted. The storyline had potential, but I could not read another badly crafted sentence or clumsy background explanation. Sariah Wilson's freshman comp instructor has a lot to answer for. Scratch that, her 3rd grade English teacher has a lot to answer for -- by the time she got to freshman comp there was clearly not anything with which to work. This is an enjoyable rom-com style book that is primarily lighthearted and feel-good. In places the story struck me as very cliche but it's done so well you can't help but get carried along. I guess it's a bit like a modern day fairy tale. I like the way the scientists are portrayed. I've worked in labs and it was nice to see relatable people and lab spaces (although if a lab has lab coats, you wear them or regret it). The main characters are very likable, and the ending is satisfying.
Anna Ellis is a cosmetic scientist who loves creating makeup. Marco is the CEO of a cosmetic company and half-brother of Craig Kimball. Anna and Marco pretend to fall in love with each other to make Craig jealous. Marco and Craig have always competed against each other and what better than to compete for Anna’s affections. But as Anna and Marco fake date rouse continues the chemistry between Anna and Marco continues to grow into a real romance. I really enjoyed reading this contemporary romance novel.
How can Anna Ellis, a geeky, brilliant and hopelessly smitten cosmetic chemist possibly win over Craig Kimball, the man of her dreams – who also happens to be her boss? The answer is Craig’s empathetic (and handsome) CEO half brother, Marco. The makeup mogul knows Craig for the ridiculously competitive rival he is. Whatever Marco has, Craig wants. That can be Anna, if she’s game to play. All Anna and Marco have to do is pretend they’re falling in love and let the rumours begin. If the experiment in attraction works, a jealous Craig will swoop in and give Anna her happily ever after – if it weren’t for one hitch in the plan. There’s more to Marco than meets the eye. With every fake date, Anna’s feelings are starting to become dizzyingly real. Blame it on chemistry. It’s unpredictable, exciting and occasionally combustible. If Anna and Marco are really falling in love, who are they to argue with science? Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
