This story was about a boy who wanted a puppy so he went to an animal shop and saw some puppies for sale and decided to buy one so he asked the owner how much he said fifty dollars but the boy didnt have that much so he made a deal to pay fifty cents a day until its paid off but the man said you dont want to pay for that dog hes different his leg is messed up and the boy told him good so am i and so is my leg so he made his payments and got his dog.
This is a really good book because it teaches people that allthough were different we still deserve the same treatment and that no one should judge anyone.
As a class the students should talk about all the things that makes them different and special people.

Summary:
This book is about a little boy who decides he wants to buy a puppy. When given the choices he chooses the puppy that has a bad limp because he too has a bad limp. The veterinarian says that his puppy will need serious physical therapy in order to walk without a limp and pain. The boy does this for three long months but one day while walking the dog, a truck hits the puppy, and the boys leg brace falls off as hes rushing his puppy home. When at the vet, he is told his dog will make it and he is also taught a valuable lesson because now he no longer walks with a limp or pain.

Personal Reaction:
This book is cute and heartwarming. It almost made me cry but that could be the pregnancy hormones. I've never read this book before but I think it teaches a valuable lesson to children. Not only does it teach caring for others, but that you should also listen to your parent. However, the biggest lesson in this book is that it is better to give rather than to receive.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Teach a lesson on giving; could go to nursing homes and give out clothes and shampoo
2. Teach about caring for others ( )

Summary:
This book is about young boy who walks by a pet shop that has a sign "puppies for sale". The boy gets really excited and goes into the pet shop to look at the puppies. He see puppies running toward him but then he sees one who was left behind because he limps. The boy points to that puppy and says "I want that one." The owner says oh no you don't want that one, you can even have him for free. The boy does not agree and says no I will pay the full amount for him and shows the owner that he wears a leg brace. He explains that the puppy is just like him and he would be the perfect person to take care of him.

Personal Reaction:
We often judge people because of their disabilities just as the owner judged the puppy because he limped. This book would really show children that we shouldn't judge others just because they can't do things like everyone else.

Classroom Extensions:
1. This is a great book to show children not to judge others because they have a disability.
2. This book could be used as a math lesson to see how much the boy would have to pay the owner every month to pay for the puppy. ( )

Summary:
A boy walks by a pet shop with a sign in the front door that says "PUPPIES FOR SALE." The boy stops by and asks the owner to look at all of the puppies. He think they are cute, and would make good puppies, but then he sees the runt of the litter who is has some problems with his legs. The owner insists that the boy takes the puppy for free, but they boy refuses and says that the puppy must be payed for full price because he is just as good as any other. The boy and the store owner go back and forth until the boy shows the owner braces on his legs that wre covered by his pants and explains that he must pay full price for the puppy, and that he wants it because they have something in common.

My Personal Reaction:
This book is a great lesson for students on disabilities and what they mean. I liked that the book showed that not all disabilities are visible, but people with any kind of disability are just as valuable as those without similar disabilities. The book is a wonderful tool to use when explaining to children what it means and looks like to have a disability.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Have students write about what the boy felt like when the shop owner said he did not have to pay full price for the puppy.
2. Draw a picture of the puppy from the story and wirte about him.
