I was looking for something easy and fast to read and decided on this book, even though it isn’t anywhere near Easter. The blurb gives some idea of the plot but I’ll add a bit more. Fate is drawing not only Avery and Cam together, but also Wes and Jose. Jose is Avery’s boss, who Avery wants to date, and Cam is helping Wes open a dance studio. Jose lets Avery know he’s in love with someone else. Turns out that person is Wes. Through circumstances helped along by Fate, the four meet at a fundraiser for the new studio. Jose and Wes reconnect, with help from Avery and Wes’ friends, which is part of the story, and Avery and Cam also are brought together. I like that the author incorporated another couple’s subplot into the main plot. It made for a more interesting story. Jose’s family is also important later on when Avery’s little brother, Eric, comes to live with Avery and Cam. Which is the conflict.
I found the plot and characters interesting and likeable. I liked that the emphasis was not on mating and producing children, even though it was in the plot, it didn’t take up the major part of it. This was more about finding mates, problems that crop up, and how both couples deal with them. It made the book more interesting than the typical, ‘let’s mate and have babies.’ Avery and Wes, the omegas, also had jobs and were independent, not just omegas that popped out babies. Another thing I liked, was that the author didn’t dwell on the pregnancy and the birth.
The one problem I noticed, is the author had problems with location word usage. Words like ‘there’ were used instead of ‘here’, and ‘out’ instead of ‘in’. I don’t know if the author had a beta or editor, but they should’ve picked up on the incorrect words.
I’ve read many of this author’s books and think this is one of the better ones. I’d recommend this as a quick, easy read. It does have its moments of stress and worry dealing with Avery and his little brother’s situation however. But overall, I enjoyed Bunny Hop Beau, and give it 4 Stars.
