This book was one full of surprises, suspense, all the emotions. Darby is in Ireland for her grandmother’s funeral when she first stumbles upon Kellen. She likes to think of him as a fairy like her grandfather told her about when he is just a misunderstood boy escaping the darkness he lives. Darby is a feisty kid that is determined to befriend this boy and she does, so every summer when she comes to Ireland, she sneaks away to see her boy. As the years go on life changes both Darby and Kellan, they eventually lose each other until fate decides to take matters into her own hands. Kellen harbors so much pain, heartache, and darkness that it shatters your heart as you see the times, he can’t control himself. Darby has suffered too in her ways, so when she finally gets back to Ireland, she knows she needs to escape her situation and what she finds is the boy who stole her heart. As these two embark on an intense journey full of action they also help heal each other, but will fate always be on their side as evil men are hunting them down? This story grabbed me from the very beginning full of pain and heartache but suspense that grips you and Irish folklore that makes you believe in the impossible. A great read that I would read repeatedly. ( )

I have been wanting to read a book by this author for quite some time. So, when I saw this book, I thought now is a good time to start. So glad I did. This book is amazing. From the first moment I started it until the very last word, I was in love and could not stop reading. I tried to slow down me reading as I wanted the story to last longer but I couldn't stop myself.

Darby and Kellen are endgame. Kellen gives the whole new meaning to the silent type. Yet, he may be a man of few words but every time that he did open his mouth, it was magical. The way he said Darby's name had my heart melting. You could say that I might have imagined myself as Darby.

There was such a vivid movie playing in my head, the whole time I was reading this book. I was getting Peaky Blinder vibes. If you add one book to your tbr pile, it needs to be The Devil of Dublin as it is not to be missed! ( )
