This book is about Rosie and Static and the ups and downs of their relationship. We first met Rosie in the Royal Harlots MC with Karma. That's where this story starts. The Royal Bastards had to come to the rescue of Karma and Rosie from the cartel and take out the Wilmington chapter of the Harlots. Static is a nomad with a wife and daughter he leaves home while he follows the road. He was separated from his brother when they were little and their mom was put in jail and after years he finds him. He's a member of the Charleston chapter so that's where he goes. While there Murder gives him the job of going to Wilmington and helping them get Rosie and Karma back. When Static meets Rosie even though he is worse for wear right now he has an instant connection. For months they are together while she heals and he gets attached. He finally tells her about his wife and daughter and that he's going to go tell her he wants a divorce so they can be together but Rosie won't do it. She tells him to go back to his family because she won't be the other woman and live a life as her own mother did. Static promises he'll prove it to her and come back. During the 6 months that Static is gone, a lot happens to both of them. Static gets home and decides he needs to try and do right by his family and his wife and tries to make it work proving Rosie was right. And Rosie takes a nose dive thinking she was right and all men want is to get in your pants and move on when they're done. She becomes a club whore and one of the best new girls in one of the club's new ventures. When Static finds out he's not happy. He ends up back in Charleston and knows he will do whatever he needs to so Rosie will be is. Will Rosie forgive Static? Or will Static just make things worse?
I gave this one a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. Usually, these books are all about the sex in them but this one was about so much more. It was hard to write this without giving spoilers or telling you what happened in the whole book. I feel for Rosie. That girl has been through so much more than 1 person deserves in their life. And Static just needs to make up his mind once and for all about what he wants in life and realize he has responsibilities he can't just throw money at to take care of. I do recommend reading the books before this one in the series or at least the Royal Harlots so you have the back story on what happened in Wilmington when they were there. I can't wait for the next book to come out! Ember and Smoke are up next in Taming The Biker. ( )
