Book 4
I have a lot of thoughts about this installment but a few of them tread on spoiler territory so I'll tread lightly.

As with the previous books, this one recaps you on all the characters, so it could be read as a stand alone if it weren't for the fact that it gives away previous mysteries, I highly suggest you start at book one.

For me, from the very beginning of the book is was clear what why the killer was killing/what the pattern was, and who the two main suspects were, but I kept doubting my thoughts because Rosemary was so bend on it being (view spoiler). For many chapters I was yelling at her, WHY AREN'T YOU SEEING THESE CLUES THAT ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. For a smart girl, she was very unobservant in this book, compared to the previous three. I had to remind myself she is still young. lmao

I feel so much for her as a person, and I hope in the next two books we can see some more of this major character growth. Each book has her coming more into herself, and discovering her own bit of self confidence.

Though the way she chose to bow down to her mom without raising her concerns when mom decided to move in on her town really hit me in the feels. She is trying to hard to become an independent adult, but still not there yet when it comes to tell her overbearing mom to stop snooping & get her own happy ending. (view spoiler) Rosemary should have asked her to leave, or at the very least called her out on her behavior if mom was going to act like that.

To top that, she still has no friends that are alive, and has made up a whole person?!? to make it more normal that she is spending all of her time speaking with ghosts. I think this affects me so much because I totally remember being an introvert in college, and had there been ghosts to talk to I might never have branched out and made friends. I will be very sad for her if this series ends with her still friendless. (It would be big weird if she fell in love all of a sudden, but I hope for friendships.) The parts of this book that had her (view spoiler on goodreads) made me cringe. He is dead.

That being said, I do love that these books are really two mysteries, one helping a ghost cross over, and the other being an in town murder mystery. Plus the no romance plot has me so giddy. So hard to find cozies that don't have insta love.

I loved getting to know more of the town, and seeing Rosemary become more of a regular, helping new comers fit in as well. She is so empathetic and really has brought a great deal to the sleepy town of Pebble Cove.

Overall, this series has been one of my favorites to read in a long while, and I recommend it to anyone who loves cozies with a touch of paranormal. It has a great cross book plot arc that is Asher's mystery, and a fantastic main character growth arc.

Book 5
*squeals in spoilers*

The ending of this book was so much perfection! EEEK! But I can't gush about any of it because it's all spoilery.

Rosemary finds herself tangled in yet another case to Asher's dismay. Through out discovering who Hope really is, she also learns a thing or two about herself. With each book it feels more and more like we're building to a heartbreaking bittersweet ending of the Rosemary and Asher duo. I mean I keep thinking with each book, this guy has to move on at some point, or does he?

The advancements in his own death investigation are also eye opening, but less informative than I would have hoped. While I was hoping Rosemary would get more out of her time at the spoiler, I'm glad it at least gave them a few answers.

In this book, we get to know more about how the ghosts operate, and explore more of Rosemary's ability. I really enjoy the fact that Rosemary's friend circle is becoming more and more live people, in the last book I was starting to feel a bit sad that all of her friends were dead.

You'll love this story if you're open to paranormal lite, and love stories that end with many of the characters having self growth.

Book 6
I am dragging my feet on reading the last books in this series because I in no way want it to end.

Rosemary arrived at Pebble Cove lost and lonely, but with each installment she gains confidences, and a found family that spans a towns worth of characters. I adored the growth in this book, it's realistic, and feels as if it's happening in real time. The emotional depth is well laid out, and doesn't just focus on the main character. Many of the side characters have been experiencing their own emotional arcs, which is always squeal worthy for me.

The mystery in this tale was a bit of a strange one, while it all wraps up as a solid never saw that coming in the end. It left me hoping these famous people / tourists would just leave Pebble Cove alone already. ha! I love how the ghosts have their own mystery that interlocks with the livings mystery, makes it feel like I'm getting two cases out of every book. Discovering the town past through the dead also brings a lot more depth to the place, makes it feel like it's a living place, not just a setting for a story.

Asher and Rosemary are such a dynamic duo, but I am thrilled about discoveries that happen throughout this book and can't wait to see how they are all wrapped up as the series comes to a close. Callie is the perfect addition to the cast, love what her personality brought to this book.

If you love your cozies with a splash of personal growth, and a dash of low - no romance, you're going to adore this series. ( )
