Not so much a sequil as 'all the bits from the previous book that an editor would have taken out'. So if you loved Road to Perdition, then I would whole heartedly recommend this for more father-and-son gangster adventures, but if you felt like you'd already had rather a lot of them this isn't going to add much. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

These thrilling tales are set during the six-month period in which Michael O'Sullivan and his son were on the run. In OASIS, Michael Jr. contracts a life-threatening illness, forcing him to hide out in an oasis of tranquility. The story continues in SANCTUARY, as the O'Sullivans seek a hiding place from the vicious bounty hunters on their trail. And in DETOUR, Michael O'Sullivan is headed for a showdown with the murderous kingpin's heir whose history - and destiny - is completely entangled with his own! The stories weren't bad, building up a couple of subplots that would have destroyed the pacing of the original, had they been included.
My biggest beef here is, it's because less realistic as more shootouts are piled on. Yes, he's the Angel (or Archangel, depending on which story you're in) of Death, but O'Sullivan never takes a bullet? Never even gets winged?
With that plot point, this begins to stray from a crime story and almost into superheroics. There's a point where it just becomes unbelievable.
Overall, good, but diminishing returns. ( )
