MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I was happy to join Grace again in this third book in A Grace Michelle Mystery. I have enjoyed this series so much. This time, Grace is in the middle of stolen artifacts with her dad guilty of having something to do with it. Her dad, who she thought was dead, but he shows up after all these years, married. But with his wife kidnapped, this story takes on a new adventure as Grace takes on this case, hoping to get to the bottom of it before she is in the killers view as well.

Another amazing and fun Grace story. I love meeting the new characters in this story, along with settling back with the characters I love so much from this series. I enjoyed Grace’s sleuthing skills as she goes after her dad’s wife, trying to find who has her. The journey is not an easy one at all. With all of the twists and turns popping up everywhere throughout the story, it is impossible to figure out what is really going on. Author Kari Bovee does a fantastic job writing this one. I’m giving Grace Among Thieves Five Stars! I encourage you to check this book out for your own enjoyment.

Grace Michelle finally seems to be getting her life in order. She has a good marriage. a successful job working as a costume designer for a Burbank movie studio, and she and her husband Chet are fulfilling their dream of offering foster children a refuge on their ranch. Suddenly, her peace is shattered when she receives a telegram from her deceased father. Where has he been for the last twelve years, and why has he chosen to make himself known at this time?

These are just two of the questions that plague Grace in this new book by author Kari Bovee. There's also stolen Russian treasure, a murdered Russian actress, and Grace's dreams about visits from her dead sister. Can Sophie help Grace uncover the truth?

Flo Ziegfeld, glamorous movie studios, and World War 1 are some of the historical references in this enjoyable mystery that is set in 1924, and Bovee laces her plot with danger, adventure, and clues that kept me guessing. I look forward to reading more about this intriguing amateur detective, and I recommend Grace Among Thieves to all who enjoy historical mystery fiction.

Kari Bovee is a relatively new-to-me author, and I enjoy her writer’s voice. I’m also new to this series, and although Grace Among Thieves is the third in the series it serves nicely as a standalone.

I love a mystery that keeps me guessing. And a 1920s setting is a plus. I’ve read few books (of any genre) that take place during this time period, so this mystery felt fresh and glamorous. I’m don’t read many stories with a paranormal touch, but this was a fun aspect.

I like Grace. She’s very different than me, but I found it easy to connect with her. Perhaps one of my favorite touches to the story was the aspect of the ranch and foster kids.

I have had the pleasure of reading the previous books from Kari Bovee’s series, Grace Michelle Mysteries. I was excited to have an opportunity to read the third installment, Grace Among Thieves. Even though this is a series, I believe readers can still read each one as a stand alone. However, they will not want to miss any of the books. This one is probably my new favorite. I thought it was a great little mystery to read. It was not easily predictable that kept continuously intrigued. There were a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. I had to keep reading to find how it would all unfold. The author does a nice job weaving a suspenseful tale for Grace. I love going back in time with her to the 1920s, that was fun and entertaining. There was danger, history, adventure and action that I love reading. This was a great way to spend a couple of cold evenings by the fireplace.

I am giving Grace Among Thieves a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading historical suspense and cozy mysteries. I am hoping there will be more to come from the Grace Michelle Mysteries series. I always look forward to see what kinds of mysteries Kari Bovee comes up with next.

This has been my favorite book in this series. In this book we get to know more about each of Graces friends and her family. We are learning more about how she is hearing her dead sister and helping to solve mysteries with the clues she receives. I liked this story also because it comes together better than the first two books in the series. I recommend reading the first two books before reading this one so you know what is going on. I like the mystery and the historical aspects of the book. I received a copy of this book from ireadbooktour for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
