Appartient à la sérieWedding Town (1)
Cassie's in her wedding dress and ready to walk down the aisle. Minutes later, she's a runaway bride on her way to nowhere. Two Hearts, Tennessee, fits that description perfectly. She's also a wedding planner. When someone in her profession is a runaway bride, the story's so sweet that she needs to stay hidden for a while. Greg returned to Two Hearts to be the sheriff after years as a big city cop - and his fiancée dumping him. He's living over the garage at his mother's house (how did that happen?) and just doing his job. Then he gets a call about a redhead in the diner wearing a wedding dress. His life and the town are turned upside down. Cassie wants to help Two Hearts while she's hiding from her ex-groom and the media. She may have some ideas to give a boost to the dying town. Cassie has a thriving business in Nashville. Greg's tied to Two Hearts. Will she be able to help the town AND avoid falling for the sheriff? The town, maybe. The sheriff? She's pulled closer to his heart every minute she's there. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Cassandra (Cassie for short) Van Bibber, is a wedding planner that has planned every detail of her own wedding but beyond her wildest dreams becomes "the runaway bride" moments before she was to walk down the aisle. Her getaway vehicle is a motorcycle with no getaway plan except to get out of Nashville. She couldn't have guessed that the small town of Two Hearts would be the place where she ran out of gas and the only gas station in town is closed until Monday morning. Sheriff Greg Brantley introduces himself to the new visitor as it didn't take long for him to learn of Cassie's arrival and never anticipated the introduction might change his life forever.
I loved Cassie's resilience and the caring people of Two Hearts. It's also a tribute to those special women friends that one can call in distress and they always answer, and regardless of their own busy schedules find a way to stop and be there for you. It's Greg's hometown but after living and working for the Chicago Police Department he has returned with attitude. But it's obvious early on that he has his mother's heart and good nature and their caring ways are a gift to everyone they interact with and as they help to heal Cassie's heart. It's lovely to see her become their inspiration as well as to the town. It's such a feel-good story with friendship, romance, inspiration, and caring entrepreneurs that put their heart and soul into making each client's dreams come true. I must also mention that adorable rescued kitten one more time. ;)
One disappointment for me but perhaps liked by or even missed by others: Most contemporary romances today continue with "happily-ever-after" as their ending. The author's letter at the beginning of the novel to "Dear Reader" advised "Cassie and Greg think Nashville and Two Hearts are too far apart for them to fall in love. They may be wrong because Runaway to Romance has a happy ending."
I didn't want that confirmation before I even turned to Chapter One. I don't know why the author thought it was necessary. ( )
