I'm not rating this book because I only skimmed it, and because it is very dated. Despite those two facts, this book helped me by inspiring hope for me as a writer, an aspiring novelist, to be precise. Chapter 4 was probably the most relevant for today and for non visual artists.

As a dancer, one of my biggest concerns of going into the dance world is how little dancers can make, and the uncertainty of an income. I am sure this is the concern of many artists as our careers falls into the category of lowest paying occupations, unless you know what you are doing. Caroll Michels knows what she is doing and is offering tons of advice on how to be successful and get paid. In this book she offers insight on how to launch your career and get people excited about your work. This is a great book for the fine artist that would love to know how to make a living and then some more.
