Twenty-three years ago, Christine took a call from her married lover while shopping, turning her back on her young toddler, Heidi. And in those few minutes, Heidi was kidnapped and has never been found. Christine is wracked with guilt from both taking her eyes off her child, and for cheating on her husband. She never really gets over it, to the detriment of her relationship with her husband, Greg, and with the two children (Daniel and Ella) they have after the loss of Heidi.

Several friends have read this book and told me there is an amazing twist. So, I was expecting something. And I'm smart. And I read a lot. And I thought I had it figured out. And I did, until the end, where there was one more thing.

I almost didn’t read this one because of the reviews but I am sooo glad that I did! What a sick, twisted story! I personally loved the authors writing style and thought the way each narrator was talking to someone made it that much more sinister. I sometimes don’t like when chapters alternate narrators but with this book, each time there was a chapter for a new character I found myself excited to see things from their perspective. The twists kept coming and even when I thought I figured it out, the last chapter blew my mind. Absolutely loved this one!
