This book is great for students at an intermediate level. It is about a little girl named Josie who is getting ready for a powwow, which is a sacred dance celebrated within specific American Indian cultures. Throughout the story, Josie receives help as she picks out what she pieces together in her outfit for the dance. At the end of the story, she participates in her first powwow. I would use this book in second grade, the reason for this is because although it is a cute story, you need to pay attention because it is informative.

This book is about Josie a Native American girl who practices her dance steps and gets help from her family in preparation for her first powwow.
