There are the perspectives of those selected who are essential to the closely interwoven plot, and that's what makes this tale so riveting. The publisher's blurb is a good hook and I read it in one day. I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from BooksGoSocial via NetGalley. Thank you! I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. This was a quick and exciting read, with chapters from the perspectives of a variety of characters, including detective Kyle and nurse Cora (the pilot's daughter) who are both passengers on the hijacked plane, the airport employee responsible for placing a gun on board, the President of the US and her advisors, and also the wealthy boyfriend of one of the passengers. The details about how to fly a plane were really interesting, and the different perspectives kept the story moving without becoming confusing. There were a few little things which seemed unlikely to me (would the US really carry out the sort of mission in Somalia described here, for example?), but my main quibble was the romance, which seemed very accelerated and also surely the last thing that would be on your mind in the perilous situation described. Recommended otherwise though. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Welcome aboard Pacific Air Flight 385, with nonstop service from Seattle to Honolulu. Cora is scared to fly again after her husband died in a recent helicopter crash in Pago Pago. A thousand times she has told herself to turn around, not get on the flight, go back to her young children. But now, she's seated in first class across the aisle from the girlfriend of a famous billionaire pharmaceutical entrepreneur. Halfway across the Pacific, the flight is hijacked. Six people are dead-including the pilots. Cora is a young widow, mother, and emergency room nurse...but as the world closes in around her, she's also a pilot's daughter. Lost off radar in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, the motive behind the hijacking remains a mystery. Not knowing who to trust, Cora works with the man seated beside her, Seattle Homicide Detective Kyle Adams, to save herself along with the remaining one hundred and fifty-four souls on board. Best thriller I’ve read in a while! A lot of books say you’ll be on the edge of seat, but rarely is that ever true. Cole knocks that right outta the park with her writing.
If you’re thinking of reading this I highly suggest you do so! I’d give 100 stars .. looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Also have to thank her Dad for his wisdom. I was highly interested in all the flying details. Such a great read! A purely enjoyable ride. ( )
