On the grand that the subject matter deserves, this epic novel tells the story of three generations of a family of Gallegos, the eternally itinerant Celtic people of northwestern Spain, the province of Galicia. They are especially fond of Cuba and Argentina, and it is in the latter that this novel is set, where this particular Gallega family's loves, triumphs, and sorrows occur.
