Wes, 49, is a former porn star who is viewing that as his secret past, along with the fact that he is gay. He is living a "straight" life as a real estate agent. Jesse, 32, is a gay man who meets Wes at a party. They have a nice connection overall. Wes needs to go to an indiscreet place where he has anonymous trysts. Jesse sees him there, along with a huge poster of Wes the porn star 20 years younger. Jesse figures out who he is. Fortunately, rather than dance around it, they address this very quickly and end up getting together. Wes remains in the closet, but Jesse decides that isn't for him. I liked that Jesse had a backbone instead of just letting Wes decide what to do. I also liked that the age difference was mentioned, but not a huge problem or story plot. I liked the confidence Jesse had in himself, and worrying about age would've seemed uncharacteristic.
I liked this book. I really did. I think what makes this more of a 3 star than a 4 star, for me, is that it was too short. I felt like we were whisked away through their story and being told what had happened off page rather than see some of it happen. It was a good story that would have done better just a bit longer to build up some of the scenes and build up their relationship. Gratefully, we get our HEA at the end, but I wish I had more story packed on the pages to make me feel it. (
