En una casa acontecen una serie de muertes en extrañas circunstancias a causa de la llegada de un amigo September 17, 2002 Return to the House of Usher Robert Poe It was almost predestined to be hokey, but actually wasn’t bad. Poe is a descendant of Edgar Allen, and cashing in on the fame. Told in the first person, as a narrative. He’s inherited E.A.’s papers – writings never seen by the public – and his old college friend Roderick Usher is a descendant of the original Roderick, and of course he also has a sister named Madeleine. The “House” is there, although now it’s an asylum / hospital of sorts. Rumor has it that the dead are still walking around, Madeleine dies, and Roderick’s going bonkers. It was enjoyable enough, though the narrator is a little dull and pretentious. Bought another one at the same time – “The Black Cat”, so we’ll see how that one fares. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
John Charles Poe, a small-town reporter in Crowley, Virginia, drinks a lot of bourbon and works because he doesn't have to. The heir to the family fortune, he has just received the most unusual part of the Poe legacy-the casket. The three-foot-long wooden box contains the notes and personal papers of the Poe men dating back to the eerie and mysterious Edgar Allen. It is passed on to every male Poe on his thirtieth birthday. John Charles has sworn not to divulge its secrets, but a call from his oldest friend, Roderick Usher, on the verge of a breakdown, may justify a broken oath.
