This was more of a 3.5 star read for me, but I am rounding up to 4 just because that's how I roll.
When I first opened the book and saw the chapter heading titles, my first thought was "why do I need to even read the book now?". I know most HEA m/m romance titles follow a similar track: MC's meet, MC's get to know each other, there might be some conflict, it all gets worked out, MC's live happily ever after. This book fit that track, and I knew in general what was going to happen in each chapter. It took some of the anticipation/intrigue out of the story. Fortunately there were enough details written into the story to keep me invested.
Corey is the office accountant that everyone talks about because of an incident where he stalked a co-worker. It was glossed over a little bit in the story, but then when some details were offered, it seemed REALLY crazy, and it did not fit with what I envisioned as Corey's personality as it was written. He seemed like a quiet guy, one who wanted romance, and was a bit shy. Then he was portrayed as a true stalker type who spreads lies about others. It didn't seem to fit for me. Perhaps it was because the incident everyone talked about ended up changing Corey's personality, but I would've liked a little more explanation if that was the case.
Remington (Remy) was a lawyer coming to work on a case for Corey's boss. He bumped into Corey in the hallway and Corey dumped coffee on him by accident. Remy immediately found Corey to be an attractive one night stand option, and asked him out for dinner. Their chemistry was electric. They really did work together as a pair. Of course there was some conflict as Remy started feeling more than one night stand feelings for Corey. The romantic turn the story took was unexpected, but being a short story it helped show how solid the relationship is likely to be down the road and helped me envision a clear HEA.
