"Girls with Rebel Souls" was the last book in the series and even though I enjoyed it, I missed the toughness of the girls and the stopping of the corruption fell flat. By the end I was left feeling underwhelmed. However, I still loved the characters, the strong bond between the girls and the fact they realised they could change the world in their own small way. A worthwhile series. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Unfortunately, this bears the same curse that I find with most modern literature......pushed agenda, infused ideologies and politically motivated content....all things I prefer left out of my fictitious reading material.
This trilogy started out amazing.....only to spiral on a downard decent of disaster in each book.
I'm all for strong female characters and women's equality, and I feel that literature is a great place to bring ugly realities to light and motivate change.......but this quickly went from motivational womens empowerment to man hating propaganda.
By halfway through this book I was absolutely sick of reading about how awful men are, especially rich white men.....a descriptor used ad nauseum.
Young also strongly emparts her political ideologies in her work.....even so far as making it apparent she is basing some characters off of modern political figures...in poor taste in my opinion.
The silliness of the girls also started to grate.....the redundancy of their crying and not being able to be apart for a few hours was just annoying after awhile.
It's obvious that Young is a girls girl, and that's fine......but creating characters that are supposed to be strong feminine warriors out to right the injustices committed by men, only to make them incredibly weak and ridiculously codependent upon eachother is just asinine.
This series reads like Young worked herself into a frenzy while writing this.....she stated with a story and ended in a rant.
It's not all bad.....overall I still enjoyed this trilogy and will recommend it to others who like this type of read.....although I admit I'm not quite as excited as I was to read the other Suzanne Young books I purchased. ( )
