Large format book about whales. Good illustration by Becky Thorns; unfortunately the book does not specify the technique. Depressing illustration at the end of a person on a bicycle trailing a plastic banner with the words "Say No to Plastic" on it while biking virtuously in the direction of some very effective bird-killing windmills. That kind of ruined it for me. But until that point I was really enjoying the illustrations. I'ld say that Steve Jenkins's work is probably a cut above; he and his wife decide on the text as well as doing all the illustrating. Nice job if you can get it. ( )
