I don't feel there's a lot to say about A Christmas Carol that anyone would not already know, seeing as how popular the classic story is. I will say that if you haven't read the book and only know the story through the movies and cartoons, then go get a copy this year and read it during the holiday season. Dickens's wiriting style and use of language is worth the short read. In addition to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, A Christmas Carol is usually a yearly reading tradition for me. ( )

I like Dickens a lot. This is not his best literary work, but the story is great fun. Unlike most of his works, this one can be read quickly. Highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to get up for the Christmas season or who wants to be reminded of the joy of life. ( )

This book consisted of three novellas: A Christmas Carol, The Chimes, and The Cricket in the Hearth. All of their plots revolved around moral dilemmas that were happily resolved by the end of the story. While there was a great deal of Dickens’s typical humor in these stories, I didn’t like these as much as I like some of his other books. I’m not entirely sure why, possibly because the stories were so short that he didn’t have time to develop as much as his longer books. They are easy reads for people who have never read Dickens, though. ( )

A beautiful story that can be read and appreciated at any age. The supplemental Christmas stories varied in quality, but that's to be expected. ( )
