Essentially, this is a book about Christ's role in the world today as Christians understand it, why there is suffering in the world, and how Christians should relate to Christ in times of human suffering. Even though the author always use COVID-19 epidemic issues to illustrate his points, the discussions in the book can be applied to any situation of suffering. I think any Christian who had conducted Bible study on the issue of suffering will be familiar to the points he makes, but it's a nice, short, convenient source of encouragement for people who don't have time to go through what the Bible says about God's righteousness or God's sovereignty or suffering of Christians. I listened to the audiobook version and it's read by the author. The audiobook is about 2 hours long. It's kind of like a slightly longer sermon, with structured chapter headings :P His closing prayer at the end of the book was passionate and moving. I was encouraged. ( ) Rated: C+ Always like Piper's perspective on things. Simple read on why bad things can happen -- whether allowed by God or sent by God. > The object of hope is future. The experience of hope is present. > For believers, God says: "Live or die, you will be with me." >The biblical view of faith is not a leap in the dark. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
