WOW! I ADORED this book. I absolutely loved Truly's spirit and independence. She is well-rounded since she is smart, helpful, and confident in herself. She is also proactive; she does not wait around to do something--she does it right then and there. Kids can learn a lot from her and will know that the sky is the limit. Too often, children are told they're too small to bring about great change or do something extraordinary. The love she has for Ty is admirable, too. Kids who might be a big sister or big brother can learn a lot about sibling graciousness from this great character. I can't say enough wonderful things about this extraordinary piece of literature! Aside from the story itself, the activity and drawing instructions at the end are invaluable additions. With these additions, kids can fuel their creative minds and embrace the arts. ( )
