It has been a while since I’ve visited the fictional town of Wishing Bridge and I was thrilled to return, catch up with some old friends and meet some new ones in the third book in Ruth Logan Herne’s series.

As many of the residents gather around Jazz in her time of need, Herne spins that small-town magic that makes you want to be a part of them. And while I couldn’t really relate to Jazz (a high fashion super model with plenty of money and a past filled with magazine shoots and travel), she is likable.

There’s a hint of suspense with Jazz’s stalker and the few intermissions from his perspective keep the danger at the edge of the readers’ minds. But what really stole the show in Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge for me was the kids. Herne writes children so well, and their excitement and imagination over the fairy houses that pop up in the second half of the book are delightful and filled my heart with joy.

I was also very happy to see this story isn’t a permanent goodbye to this town and these characters. It’s simply an “until next time.”

Set in small-town Wishing Bridge and with a cast of wonderful, realistic, characters, Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge has a little bit of everything—suspense, romance, inspiration, and a good dose of community caring and compassion. This last book in the series can be read alone, but it’s helpful to read the preceding books to really get a good feel for it. Many of the characters are carried over to this book. Ruth Logan Herne is a pro at writing small-town stories and it shows in the relationships between the people and the camaraderie they enjoy.

It was such fun to see the friendship between Jazz and Garrett develop and progress. Garrett is a fantastic hero—caring, helpful, and ready to do anything to protect others. Jazz is feisty and independent and deeply loving with her friends. I didn’t immediately connect with her, but she grew on me throughout the story. I’ll admit to being a little confused by all the characters in the book, as there were some sub-stories going on with some of them. I had to stop and think about them sometimes, which took me out of the story a bit. All in all, this is a satisfying read about people coming together to help each other.

It has been awhile since I've truly struggled to get through a novel and I hate to admit this, but Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge was a major struggle for me. This book is part of the Wishing Bridge series, and I haven't read the first two books yet, so maybe that was the problem, but I struggled to connect to the characters, to sympathize with their situations, and to feel apart of their quaint community.

Sweet little Emerson was one character that I did click with, his sunshine attitude glowing off the page, and bringing such brightness to a dark situation, and honestly kept reading to find out what happened to him, as well as Jazz and the whole stalker situation. I toiled with this novel, picking it up and putting it down, just not as vested as I wanted to be, but I knew there would come a moment when it all clicked, and thankfully it finally did.

The ending truly did redeem this novel for me, and I finally felt that kinship to the characters that I had craved all along, though I do have to say I was underwhelmed with how the stalker situation played out. I would've loved to have seen more action but in saying that the ending was quite satisfying, and I did close this book with a smile on my face.

Despite this book being a struggle for me, it did pique my curiosity to read the other books in the series so I can delve more into the wonderful town of Wishing Bridge, and see if not having more back story was the reason for my disconnect. ( )

Jazz Monroe is settling down after her high profile career seriously threatened her life, she answers the call of one of her best friends which leads her to Wishing Bridge. Her life is settling down, and she's finally finding peace and making friends while working at a small town diner and restoring her new home.

But an unexpected attack has her questioning her safety and her new life.

This book picks up where the previous books left off, continuing to follow both Thea and Kelsey, along with many other beloved community members. Definitely a series that you would benefit from reading in order, as Jazz's story began in the background of the very first book in the series.

Heartwarming read that follows many community members, as well as Jazz's story which adds a touch of suspense. I love how all the of the stories intertwined, bringing people together, connecting them with faith. I loved Max, and Garrett, as well as how it continues the story of the brothers.

Overall, an enjoyable, and utterly fantastic read. I had read the previous book in the series, so when I saw the option to review this one, I jumped at the chance. There was a lot of things going on with multiple engaging storylines and continuing plots from the previous installments. Great depth, and inspiring message of faith. I didn't want to put it down and read it in nearly one sitting. Highly recommend the whole Wishing Bridge Series!
