A very informative book that teaches young readers about the Hindu Temple. Providing readers with a blend of pictures and text the author allows the reader to dispell any previous notions of the temple, explaning the warmth and traditions that surrond the hindi tradition.

It was an interesting read into how Hindus practice and worship, and gave a good overview of the religion's tenets and core beliefs. It was a bit wordy and I wouldn't recommend it for children under 8 or 9. The book used a lot of first-person and second-person pronouns, as if the authors were inviting the reader to join them on a tour. Lots of pictures of beautiful temples and art color the pages and make for an interesting read! Would be good as a resource for students to use for a project on the religion. ( )

This book pleasantly explained the basic beliefs of Hindus, different ways of worship and several of the various forms of (one) god that a Hindu might choose to worship, special and daily customs/rituals/celebrations and places of worship. Its photographs were well done and fit the text appropriately. I really enojyed this book, it gave enough detail to really get an idea of what Hinduism is like, while maintaining secularity.
