This collection of short stories is intriguing reading and takes on a number of tones. It can have its gritty side, as in "Guardian angels don't have wings", in which a girl tries to cover for her abusive parents, and it can make inquiries into the nature of time and memory (e,g., "Memory of the wind"). Protagonists can confuse themselves with the messiah ("Jesus wept") or visit their own personal heaven and hell, as in "Catch sight of yourself". Sometimes animals come to the fore, as in "Fox hunt". It's a very rewarding read, and a master class in how to craft a story.
