Adam, and his father Mr. Parks, are absolute sweethearts, but Adam's sister is an absolute beast, which gives that much-needed conflict to an otherwise sweet and simple story. One of my favorite scenes in the entire novella involves a confrontation between this toxic woman and Lucy, and really made me love Lucy's character all the more.
This book is comfortable and familiar, leaving you feeling warm and fuzzy, and is the perfect weekend afternoon read, quick and enjoyable! (
