The story had a serious side but I never felt that Sawyer was in any danger, even when the ultimate threat arrived he felt more like a comedy vIllain. It was an easy and enjoyable light read. Well written as I always find Sam's books to be but without the intricate world building that define their other current series. Well worth a read. FYI there is knotting but this book is NOT mpreg. Sawyer is running away from his pack and an abusive, murderous alpha when he runs (almost literally) into Dez, an alpha in a small pack with two other alphas. Sawyer finds acceptance and a family in the pack--will he also find a mate in Dez? Of *course* he will, don't be silly. And that's one of the things I love about romance--always, but especially in 2020. It's gonna work out how it should. I enjoyed all the characters here, the found family aspects, and the romance--as well as the way Burns plays around with tropes and expectations from the alpha/beta/omega dynamic that is popular in fanfic. - I cant Express how much I love shifter stories ..bears, lions, wolves..I love them all. This story although predictable at times, was well thought out and brought some heat ! This story was unique in that I've never read a story about a wolf that carried an injury ..normally you read all about how shifting heals, I found this unique and fascinating. The banter between all of the characters in this book is superb, you really felt like you were in the book bantering along with them. And the sweetness that is Sawyer works so so well in that environment! Definitely a must read I cant wait for more This book was interesting and well-written. Sawyer is on the run at the start of this story. He's fled his original pack because of a violent takeover that resulted in his father's death. Mark, the dark and aggressive new Alpha wants to claim Sawyer and keep him "in line." Sawyer may be an omega but he wasn't raised to believe that made him "less than" every other werewolf. He runs without much hope of finding a place where he can finally be safe. When Sawyer stumbled across Dez quite by accident he finds himself protected... and respected. In a unique deviation from most shifter stories, Dez is the member of a make-shift pack of three alphas. Gavin, Ash, and Dez were in service together in Afghanistan and they are fiercely devoted friends. The dynamics of this pack were great. Ash is the one with all the knowledge about living as a shifter and he's doing his best to pass on what he knows to friends, Gavin and Dez. Sawyer has always been surrounded by shifters and is intrigued by the newness and freedom in the Kismet pack. The pack dynamics make for a great read. The friendship of the three alpha wolves was quirky and fierce and I loved it. I really enjoy when I read about a friendship and find myself thinking that I would love to know the characters. The plot isn't a very complex one. There are some moments of tension and a fair amount of amusing misunderstandings. All in all a good book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
