"Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming - mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger's massive Twitter account. Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper's side. When he isn't trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin's shadow, he's busy working in his family's deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma's iconic grilled cheese recipe, he'll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time. All's fair in love and cheese - that is, until Pepper and Jack's spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they're publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they're also falling for each other in real life - on an anonymous chat app Jack built. As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate - people on the internet are shipping them?? - their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can't ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected"--… (plus d'informations)

Pepper is being pressured by her mom to do some snarky Tweeting for her mom's company. There's a feud brewing between her family's fast food company and a small business called Girl Cheesing. What Pepper is slow to find out is that her classmate Jack is on the other side of the Twitter war.
Pepper is also talking to Wolf on the school's social media site (which happens to have been created by Jack).
The book has lots of conflicts and hurdles, characters that are richly developed, conflicts with family, self, and friend groups, and a sweet love story. ( )

Tweet Cute--a solid and fun romance novel--will be a great way to unwind after a long week. You'll smile and maybe even laugh a bit.

Pepper grew up in Nashville but has lived in New York for four years, scrambling to be the best in her very competitive private school. She's an overachiever. She's the swim team captain, she makes great grades, studies a lot, and does most of the social media for her mom's company even though they pay people to do this job. Her dad still lives in Nashville running the family's original restaurant. With the divorce, Pepper and her sister move to NYC with their mom to work in the corporate office of the now huge chain of restaurants. Her sister attends college, so it's only Pepper and her mom. Pepper's mom oozes intensity, which stresses Pepper out, for she doesn't want to disappoint her mother. This desire explains Pepper's need to be the best student by overachieving.

Jack loves his family's small, local restaurant but wants a different future in tech. He's created an app that the students at school love called Weasel. The students use it to make study groups and help each other, but you can also meet people in hopes of dating. Everyone is given an animal as their avatar, so it's completely anonymous. If you are texting someone exclusively, the app will surprise you (pop goes the weasel) with the identity of the person. The administration of the school believes the app could be harmful and tries to shut it down. No one knows that Jack developed the app. Jack's twin brother is the overachiever in their family. He's involved in everything and socializes a lot as well. Only Pepper can tell them apart, which Jack doesn't understand because they're very different people.

Pepper and Jack text on Weasel, but they don't know each other's identity and the app hasn't revealed their names yet. In real life, Jack annoys Pepper because he doesn't seem to care about much--he's definitely not Type A. When Jack's brother fails to accomplish her many duties for everything he's involved in, he always has Jack do them. That's how Jack and Pepper end up spending time together. They need to plan the swim and dive fundraiser. Great--no problem. Well, here's where the conflict comes in. The big time chain Pepper's mom owns starts a new menu item that is exactly like Jack's family's signature menu item. Eventually, a Twitter war ensues. Guess who runs each Twitter account? Yep--Pepper and Jack. They decide they will not be offended by the other and let the chips fall where they may. Pepper feels that her mom is pushing into rudeness and hates being a part of the rivalry. The only times they feel truly appreciated and "seen" is on the app. Enjoy the story as they get closer and closer to becoming truly a cute couple.

I really enjoyed listening to this novel. They're good kids and want to do what's right. Enjoy! ( )

Excellent pandemic escape reading.

Teenaged love/hate via tweet and chatting via secret identity. Falling in love in real life, by accident, while falling in love with a different (but really the same!) person. ( )

* I got this book for review for my honest thoughts*

I really did adore this read. I loved that this book had such a unique premise and really enjoyed how this book was structured so much. I LOVED THE concept of this book as well. I thought the book was such a fun read and for a book set in NYC so realistic. I loved that this book had dual POV and I am always a fan of books that feature twins and this book focused on that realtionship in a unique way. I really loved the various levels "sides" of the romance this book progressed throughout the read. I loved how these characters growed so much throughout this read. I loved the unexpected plot twists in this read and really found this to be a refreshening read! ( )
