Deliciously ridiculous softcore nonsense that sees the alluring Carly (Landon Hall) falling out with her over-worked husband, Doug (Dutch Flaherty). To try and patch things up Doug arranges a weekend for himself and Carly at the luxurious Hotel Exotica. Unfortunately, Doug has to call-off at the last minute, so a frustrated Carly ends up taking her wild sister, Rachel (Ahmo Hight) with her. At the hotel they soon bump into beautiful psychic, Rosa (Taylor St. Claire) who is full of predictions about their future sex lives. It’s a bit of an easy prediction, because it turns out the hotel is something of a sex retreat and before long Carly and Rachel are caught up in some wild and steamy adventures. Dawn Pascual’s script is silly and contrived but manages to throw in enough references towards the need for couple’s to appropriately communicate to hint at a passing acquaintance with seriousness. Marcy Ronen provides functional direction and glides the camera fluidly around the players during the sex scenes. Ahmo Hight provides plenty of kinetic athleticism during her sex scenes, engaging in all kind of body-contorting moves including down the splits over the kitchen sink at one point. The other actors pale in comparison. Landon Hall, in comparison, is subdued and Taylor St. Claire is always a charmingly beautiful presence. “Hotel Exotica” is an efficient little movie that has a passable storyline, plenty of palatable softcore erotica and in Ahmo Hight some of the most flexible, dynamic and energetic simulated sex scenes you’re ever likely to see.
