Magic library outside of space and time? Sign me up! (Literally. Can I work there?)
Lenora stumbles onto the Library of Ever and learns how to be an apprentice assistant librarian on the job, answering patron questions, learning new things, having adventures, and fighting the personified Forces of Darkness (i.e. censorship and misinformation). I loved this story, although it was a bit fast-paced (and inaccurate as to how real-life libraries and librarian status works), and I want to spend more time in the Library of Ever. Highly recommended to anyone who loves libraries and magic.

I thought this was very clever. I would love to visit that library. ( )

For library lovers like myself, this book was a lively, fast-paced adventure set in the most wonderful of places - a magical library. Although simple in the telling, the book raises deep questions worthy of discussion. What is the value of knowledge? What happens when knowledge is lost? What is the role of censorship? Who, if anyone, should guard the truth?

I loved the book, but felt at times that the story meandered and I wanted to know Lenore, the protagonist, better.

This was such a clever book and what an amazing adventure! It is a book about asking questions gaining knowledge and searching for the truth in everything. As a librarian myself, I found it extremely admirable that Lenora was willing to do anything to help people find the knowledge that they were looking for. It also delves into the darkness of those that want to leave people in the dark without knowledge. Knowledge is power, knowledge is strength, and knowledge is a light.

I look forward to reading the next book in this series. ( )

Cute kids book - very much in a fairy tale vein; keep going forward, help when you can, help will be returned when you need it and happy ending (well...this is a setup for a series, so happy-ish). Also, the Enemy is visible and identifiable - simplistic. It was a quick, fun read; I doubt I'd bother to reread, but I would like to read others in the series. ( )
