My house could have caught fire and I wouldn't have known until it was touching me. This story is full of suspense, angst, and love. There are heartbreaking moments. It also touches on a huge range of current topics like addiction, female perceptions in society, and pressures that are all relevant in today's political climate (especially in the US). The author seamlessly ties them together without it ever feeling like there is too much. All of the events are relevant to the story. The characters were amazing, the steamy times were hot, and the connection between them was fate. The story ends on a cliffhanger. I'll be waiting on baited breath for the conclusion. Reclusive, moody Hero.
I did feel the heroine was a bit of a doormat at times, he's really not nice to her on several occasions and due to his issues she just takes it, accepts the apology and they are okay again.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Ex drama.
Cliffhanger. (
