Although the Minor Prophets are seldom studied, their words of "holy dissatisfaction" were never meant to be cordoned. Rather, they should be shared throughout all generations to fuel a robust, authentic faith in God. In Unexpected Wisdom, those words roar to life as author Dan Schmidt offers both thought-provoking and practical lessons on how readers can live in passionate relationship with the Lord. From Jonah's story on grace to Micah's thoughts on power, Obadiah's teaching on pride to Haggai's words on choices, this book speaks with laser-sharp relevance about Christian living. And with its emphasis on the Minor Prophets, it provides a refreshing alternative to readers who search mostly New Testament books for guidance on how to grow in their faith. Written for those who have studied the Bible for years as well as new Christians eager for insight, Unexpected Wisdom reveals age-old truth along with a modern-day challenge: God wants readers to "take a headlong plunge into life" and be "thoroughly infused by God." How can they refuse?… (plus d'informations)

I initially checked this out of my public library, but after reading it, I went out and purchased my own copy. It is a delightful and highly practical commentary on the major themes of the minor prophets. I've not seen a better work on this subject.
