Mary Elizabeth is a girl who gets a new puppy named Lucy. Mary Elizabeth quickly learns about all the responsibilities that comes with a new pet when Lucy chews up her new shoe laces. Mary Elizabeth has to clean up Lucy and her mess when she chews up a ball point pen and when she falls into Mary's bath water.
