First, I'd like to point out that most if not all of Brayden's covers are awesome. They connect with the story, which is not the case for some of the other books I've read. With that being said, Love Like This is my favorite of the series. There may be some biasness in that statement because not only is Hadley my favorite of the quartet, but I’ve also gotten to know Hadley more through her best friends' romantic journeys. In addition, Hadley's peppy personality does leap off the page. I'm glad Brayden took the road less traveled approach in pairing Hadley with Spencer. I like Spencer. I'm quite sure the swagger and velvety voice has a lot to do with that. She reminds me of Gia in that Spencer too has a self-made armour that can only be chipped away by someone like Hadley, who wears her heart on her sleeve. After their first face-to-face, there was no doubt in my mind that they belonged together. However, by end of seventh chapter I thought to myself "Damn, the angst is going to be pretty emotional." Hadley was there for her friends when they needed an ear, but now that they've all have girlfriends/wife, who was going to be there for Hadley? I can't say too much more without giving away potential spoilers. So, overall Love Like This is a great ending to a awesome series—the book's conclusion was icing on the cake. ( ) The fourth and final instalment of the Seven Shores Romance series. Confession: We were dying to read this one to know what happens with Elle Britton, who is possibly our most favourite Melissa Brayden character. Since it’s just us with our crush on Elle, it won’t be a spoiler to say…yesss (fist pump) she regains her number one spot in surfing and gets pregnant too. Thank you Brayden (XOXOXOXO). Read full review @https://www.bestlesficreviews.com/2019/01/love-like-this-by-melissa-brayden.html This the fourth, and perhaps last, book in the Seven Shores series, which features four friends living the Seven Shores apartment complex. This outing features Hadley Cooper, the assistant manager of Rodeo Drive boutique store. Hadley is eternally optimistic about finding the woman of her dreams. Even the fact that she is the last of her friends to be in a relationship doesn’t dampen her dreams of finding Ms. Right. There were times when the book felt like it less Hadley’s story than the tying up of loose threads for the series. For instance, we spend time learning about details of Autumn’s pregnancy, and that occurred right after Hadley met Spencer, an up-and-coming fashion designer thus stopping Hadley’s storyline. If you are new to the series, you might be advised to start with the first book in the series, Eyes Like Those, where the author introduces the four friends, otherwise you will be a loss of who’s who in this last book. The author fails to introduce any of the friends apparently believing everyone has read the other three books. But, even as one who has read the first three books, I found myself at a loss for the details about the other characters. Well, this novel was a bit of a bummer. Not because of the story, that was slightly different and cool, but because it's the last in the Seven Shores series (I think). This time it's Hadley's turn. She's the character that through the previous three books has believed most in the true love stories, and has a dreamer quality to what she wants out of relationships. Spencer isn't quite like that. When it comes to relationships she has a more realist view of them. The two women meet because Hadley wants to make the Rodeo drive clothes store where she's the manager, Silhouette, better, more diverse, just much less stuffy. Spencer is the up and coming designer who Hadley thinks can do that for the store. And so they meet and they start working together to get Spencer's clothes into the store, and, of course, at the same time they start falling in love, but, as I said, their ideas about love don't exactly go well together, so, the question is, can they bridge that? It was also fun to read about the other stuff going on in Gia, Autumn, and Isabel's lives and it dovetailed nicely with the main story. And then two Autumn/Kate kiddos were so darn cute. Like the others, this book was such a fun ride and even kept me guessing re: the main story, too. I received this book via Netgalley thanks to Bold Strokes Books. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Sometimes the most imperfect match is the most perfect surprise. Hadley Cooper believes in happily-ever-afters with her whole heart. Described by her friends as a wide-eyed, eternal optimist, she looks for the bright side in most any situation. However, when her job as the assistant manager of Silhouette, a posh boutique on Rodeo Drive, is on the line, she realizes it's time to pull her head out of the clouds and find a way to turn business around, and that just might mean partnering with the most stubborn up-and-coming fashion designer she's ever encountered. Spencer Adair has a passion for fashion, but hates the fact that it rhymes. She's serious about her designs, fiercely protective of her work, and is waiting patiently for her big break. What she didn't plan on, however, was the unsolicited opinions of that overly- friendly blond boutique manager. Or the way her heart beats faster every time she's around.
