"Dr Dave Walker was used to handling major surgery and the follow-up into ICU. But something was wrong. More than mere physical healing he wanted to see his patients' lives changed. Then God broke into his life and he started praying with his patients. Suddenly things happened he never could have imagined. Enter the drama of high-tech medicine, the inner life of a concerned doctor and above all, the intervention of a loving, caring God."--Back cover.… (plus d'informations)

My family and I started listening to this book on Scribd a while back but realized part-way through that for some reason, the story was incomplete. Occasionally, entire sections of chapters would be skipped, creating a very disrupted flow to the narrative. Later, I went back and re-read the whole thing to my family, and we all enjoyed being able to hear the whole story.

This is an inspiring book. Dr. Walker doesn’t just share the highlights of his career, and the most spectacular miracles he saw (although some of the ones described here made me sit back in awe at what the Lord did!); he also shares some of the low-lights. Some of his stories are of times when he was sure God would act, when he begged God to act in the situation…and He didn’t. Bringing both together in here creates a powerful story of what happens when we are surrendered to God’s will and aim to do things for His glory, not ours. Dr. Walker had some incredible experiences, not only in his homeland of South Africa, but beyond in the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere. I came away from this book encouraged and would love to have a copy of my own one day. This is a good story! ( )
