I loved listening my mom read this when I was younger! ( )

I bought this book for my son when he was seven. He was attending a Waldorf School at the time. This is one of the books our family was introduced to through Waldorf and its pedagogy, which attempts to instill in children a reverence for nature.

By contemporary standards, it is a bit on the too-precious side. Still it does a good job of telling stories that gel with the intellectual and emotional development of a seven-year-old. ( )
