A handy addition to any baker's repertoire. ( ) I liked it. I'm relatively new to reading books about baking cakes, so she's getting a 3 for now on the assumption that this is not the worst or best of titles out there, and if turns out I was mistaken I will revisit the rating! I liked the easy-to-follow instructions about baking, assembling, and decorating. I'm less enthusiastic about her having, basically, 1 recipe for making cakes. It's all the same cake, /- spices, essentially, and if every so often something goes in that would alter the balance (e.g. strawberry puree for a strawberry flavour, but it's wet) then one cuts down on the wet ingredients, but otherwise it stays the same. So there are a world of cakes out there, and none of them except your basic cake are touched upon. It works very well for someone like me, a neophyte, but if you're hoping to learn how to make Black Forest Cake, Sachertorte, Dobosh Torta, etc., you won't find it here. (Note: 5 stars = amazing, wonderful, 4 = very good book, 3 = decent read, 2 = disappointing, 1 = awful, just awful. I'm fairly good at picking for myself so end up with a lot of 4s). aucune critique | ajouter une critique
