Sweet Second Chance

I loved this read it was different from most second chance romance because it was very low on the angst and drama. The main characters didn’t hate each other or take forever to get back together and I found that to be so enjoyable. ( )

This was a quick read and got steamy a few times, but overall was pretty solid. ( )

Content warning under spoiler tag. If you are sensitive when it comes to animals like me, maybe be careful. On screen euthanasia of dog with tumor. It felt very graphic to me and I burst into sobs. Not at all what I expected in my romance novel.

Other than that, the book was meh. I didn't care for Garrett and I didn't like what happened with one of the students. Not my cup of tea. ( )

Since I was about to read and review Getting Played I figured let me read this book first and my friends I was so glad I did because I would have missed out. So we meet Garret who was high school history teacher and coach for the football team. Garret was a bachelor and determined to stay that way he had no interest in changing his life however that all changed when his high school sweetheart/girlfriend love of his life came back to town and he knew he never stopped loving her. Callie came back to town to help her parents out since they both have broken legs and you have to read how that happened. She realized that the sparks with Garret are still there and they went back to there love affair, and she realized she never stopped loving Garret. While they are spending time there biggest issue was still there, what would happen when Callie go back to San fran? Then she finds out that Garret turned in a manho and slept with her biggest enemy. How does Garret get out of that. I understood both of them, I felt for Callie and wanted her to stay just a little mad a him, he explains and they made up immediately and the rest was a wonderful life..Enjoy! ( )
