So I keep reading books in this series although I know some aspects of it don't work for me. With this one, I had trouble reconciling the image I'd got of Stan in the other books and his narrative voice in this one. I liked Erik's determination of being a good father to Noah, but the whole speedy marriage-and-divorce aspects of the plot seemed just overly complicated for the sake of making it complicated (and given the marriage and initialisation of divorce appear to have taken place in Sweden, why do the lawyers involved appear to be in the US?). All in all, I've been having problems suspending my disbelief but I've been curious enough about the whole to continue reading. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

One scorching summer in each other's arms could never be enough.Stanislav "Stan" Lyamin is happy playing for the Railers. Now Erik is back in his life, and he has the same tumultuous effect he had on Stan's heart as before. Who would have thought that fate would put him on the same team as Stanislav Lyamin; the man whose heart he'd callously broken?Secrets and lies had defined their summer relationship, and the choice that Erik made to end it all haunts him still. In the middle of a messy divorce and with a baby in tow, Erik finds himself back in Stan's life. Now all he has to do is be the best dad he can be, prove to the team that he deserves the chance to stay on the roster and try his hardest to get Stan to forgive him.Is it possible to persuade a man who hates you to give love a second chance? It was fine, but not as much as I expected from Stan's story, He's my favorite character in the series; yet in this book, I found difficult to connect with him. Same for Erik.
It seems to me that a first-person story wasn't a suitable choice for this story, due to the language barrier: When the speech emphasizes it, Stan's feelings and thoughts loses fluidity, which could be avoided if It were a classic third-person story, with dialogues, or thoughts in first-person, to reinforce his Russian identity.
Erik's case is worse. We're told that he is Swedish, but there are not expressions or references to customs that make us truly believe that he is Swedish. ( )
