It had been several years since I read the previous book, but there was enough in here that did not detract from the story that explained what I had forgotten. I have the next one, so I'm off to read that and will get the library to send what I think is the last in this series.

I've had this book for a few years. I've read Wen's other series and really enjoyed it. I started Ukiah's series back when and just got sidetracked by other books. I'm out of books to read, so picking this and another book in the series back up. ( )

Wow. Ukiah goes to help a friend, back to where he was originally found - and finds a lot more. His past is there, in several senses of the word. Also more Ontongard, some weird plots, and a woman who makes Max sit up and take notice. Ukiah does a lot of growing up in this book - he gets part of his past back, which helps, but a lot of it is just him realizing he's been living as a child. Now he has responsibilities and chances, and he's mature enough to embrace both. I like. I like Jared especially - and Zoey, and most of the Kicking Deers we meet. But especially Jared. Love this series - this is probably my third or fourth reread of the whole. ( )

Ukiah Oregon (aka Wolf Boy), named for the closest town to where his Mom Jo found him running with the wolves - now he's one of the best ever at finding missing persons, but he still knows almost nothing about his past. When a frantic call from an old friend sends him and partner Max winging for the Umatilla National Forest to track down a missing hiker, it seems like a good chance to explore his own roots, as well. Unfortunately, success is a relative thing - and Ukiah's existence isn't exactly healthy for his relatives...

Excellent adventure, likeable characters, and original plotting - can't ask for much more than that! ( )

I like Ukiah. I like these books. Its a great read, not anything too deep, but its a different sort of science fiction. ( )
