I read this book to my two grandsons, ages five and eight. From my perspective, I loved it. The illustrations fit the stories, it is easy for a child to comprehend, and it is beautifully written following the Bible.
This is, in my opinion, a study Bible for children. At the end of each story there is a small section (Hear, See, and Act) that engages children, allows them to think about the story they've read/had read to them, and to see how it applies to their own lives. While the children are learning about God and Jesus through the stories, they are also learning that there is more there than just a story.
From the point of view of my grandsons, they also loved Growing in God's Love. They really listened to the stories and asked questions at the end of each. They also loved the interaction, the conversations that we had when the story ended and we read the Hear, See, and Act section.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has children in their lives. ( )
