Freedom is the fourth book in the ‘Shifter Rescue’ series, but the second book dealing with lynx shifters Hill and Cather, and jaguar shifter, Jag. This story is told in third person through all three MC’s povs.

This story takes up right where the last one left off. Hill and Cather still live at the rescue center with Jag. Hill has accepted Jag as their new master, but Cather has not. Now a new problem has arisen. Cather can’t shift back into his lynx form.

The characters are consistent with book three and Jag’s same loving care as Master is present as he works to reassure the lynx subs, Hill and Cather. That’s what I really liked about this book and in the previous one. Even though there was a lot of sex, the caring relationship between the MC’s was evident throughout. Even though Cather was still resistant to letting himself accept Jag, his need for Jag came through loud and clear. There’s lots of steamy sex, but it’s wrapped up in love.

There were a few points were I was confused with whose pov I was reading from, but overall the story was an easy, fast read. The books could easily end with this story, but I would love to see how the trio adjust to life outside the rescue center.

Freedom is a great, fun read and I give it 4 Stars.

Jag, Hill, and Cather from ‘Fading’ are back, and ‘Freedom’ is the continuation of their story. Now that Jag, a jaguar shifter, has saved the mated lynxes from fading away after they lost their previous master to an accident, the real battle for survival and a better life begins. They are still at the shifter rescue, a place run by Jag’s brother, Pirou. It is a haven for mistreated shifters of different varieties and offers refuge from those who have abused them. But Jag has a life outside the rescue, and he wants his newfound mates to move in with him.

Jag, in fact, has a whole list of things he wants: he can’t wait for Hill and Cather to call him Master, he looks forward to their submission to his every wish, he wants them to love him back the way he is beginning to love them… the list goes on. He does his best to be perfect for them, but they are the ones who need to make the final decision.

Hill just wants to please Jag, and love both the men in his life. His submission is easy, natural, and harsh words or spankings are his worst nightmare. He understands that Cather needs different treatment, and he is beginning to trust Jag to know this. But Hill has never been “outside” since they were prisoners in the circus and he is scared.

Cather does not submit easily, he loves the fight and someone who pushes him. He is still not convinced that Jag can love him, but he has given up on dying quietly now that Hill is safe. Cather is beginning to understand that he is as much a part of the “deal” as Hill is, where Jag is concerned. But he can’t seem to shift back into his lynx form, and he is terrified of going outside.

It takes a lot of talking, loving on Hill, and spanking of Cather’s bottom for the two stubborn lynxes to begin to believe they can have a life after the rescue – together with their even more stubborn new Master. I enjoyed watching them “negotiate” and love each other into sated puddles as they slowly made progress in the emotional arena as well. And the ending was just about perfect!

If you want to know how Jag, Hill, and Cather from ‘Fading’ are getting on, if you enjoy lots of physical three-way action in your romance, and if you’re looking for a very entertaining read full of snuggles in whatever form the three shifters find themselves in, then you will probably like this cute short story.
