Don't people know that cats and dogs don't mix? Connor Ragbone finds things. Sometimes it's gold, sometimes jewels, sometimes people. Set in his hippie ways, he never thought he'd find a pack, but with Sam and Gus and their goofy shifter family, he fits right in. Then he finds Brock. Shifter Brock Herman is undercover alone, working to break up a poaching ring. The last thing he needs is for Connor to wreck his sting. And now the crazy bobcat just won't go away! The poachers lead Brock and Connor on a merry chase all over Western Colorado, looking for shifter bears, but it's a lost pup who brings them back to Nevada and the pack Sam and Gus are building. That's when Brock has to decide whether he still travels alone or if Connor and his crazy family are where his heart belongs. This follow-up to Just Like Cats and Dogs is a feel-good shifter romance novel where cats and dogs prove they can be way more than the enemies nature has made them.… (plus d'informations)

Cats and dogs not mixing is, apparently, a total rumor, at least based on what happens in this series. After wolf Gus and panther Sam got together in ‘Just Like Cats and Dogs’, this time it is bobcat Connor and wolf Brock’s turn. Their story is unusual, full of adventures and danger, and while Brock doesn’t think he needs anyone (especially not a mate), he soon discovers he and Connor work really well together. As it turns out, with the trouble they discover, they’ll need to be an excellent team if they want to survive and rescue the ones who need rescuing.

Connor is part of Sam and Gus’s little oddball shifter pack/family, but he has itchy feet and a talent for finding stuff – both things and people. Connor is a little chaotic, definitely some sort of psychic, and has more energy and charm than any one man should have. I loved him from the start, what with his sense of humor and no filter whatsoever. His babbling – both in thought and when he speaks – is cute, mostly hilarious, and his way of seeing things made me laugh more than once.

Brock is a loner, a wolf shifter who is leery of packs, and he has no clue what to do when Connor claims to have “found” him. He didn’t even know he was lost! He is sort of charmed by Connor and likes his pack/family when he visits, but he doesn’t see himself staying. Brock is so focused on his job of capturing and bringing to justice poachers, that he misses how much he quickly grows to like Connor. By the time he does, it is almost too late.

If you like shifter stories full of adventure and more than a little mystery and danger, if two men who seem very different (down to their “opposing” shifter forms) are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as funny and entertaining as it is sexy and filled with unexpected escapades, then you will probably like this second novel in the ‘Sanctuary’ series. I am certainly hoping for a third!
