Maybe its the genre or the fact that the characters were one-dimensional and fit every stereotype (the "mother-in-law", the angry Native American daughter, the crazy religious ladies etc.). I also found the dialogues between the characters to be stunted and the story predictable. I didn't like the use of the word "baby" as an endearment to a grown woman, especially as it was used quite often, along with numerous other cliches. On a positive note, there were some sections that were amusing and for that I give it 2 stars. ( ) A grandpa's well meaning but misguided call for help from does bring his granddaughter Janelle home to Mammoth Falls, South Dakota. The picture perfect life, job and boyfriend on the East Coast that she has worked so hard for are left behind as she settles into Little Bill's cabin, realizing the eccentric relative really is missing. Time actually moved pretty quickly in the book, and being that Mammoth Falls is so small, many of the townspeople were very helpful. This was a good summer read, all about taking some chances and finding what means home. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
